The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna is looking for outstanding computer scientists to fill the following position:
Tenure-Track Professorship "Database techniques for Data Mining" (full time)
We are looking for outstanding internationally recognized computer scientists at all career levels with a research focus on database techniques that support data mining on large and complex data, such as index structures, similarity join, and scalable clustering techniques for the summarization of large databases. Of special interest is the expertise to integrate heterogeneous data types and support their processing and management on parallel hardware, considering multi-core machines (e.g. vectorization) and the efficient usage of multi-level cache hierarchies. Documented interdisciplinary research in data-intensive medical applications, e.g., clinical neuroscience is desirable. Experience with teaching computer science content to non-computer science audience is welcome. We expect close interaction and collaboration within the faculty of Computer Science and close integration within DataScience@UniVienna, an interdisciplinary research network between several faculties of the University of Vienna.
